Privacy Policy

The N.C. Healthy Start Foundation believes personal privacy must be respected and preserved. We do not collect personal information such as names, addresses, email addresses, etc. unless individuals voluntarily give them to us when they complete a form or survey, email us or place a bulk order for health education materials.

Personally identifiable information is used solely for the purposes of:

  • Responding to requests
Note: At times, we may not be able to answer specific eligibility and technical assistance questions. In those cases, we forward questions to individuals at the state level who are better able to offer assistance. In those cases, we do pass along the original sender's identifying information so that the sender can get a direct and confidential answer.
  • Collecting comments and recommendations about the web site
  • Processing orders and accounting for the distribution of publicly-funded health education materials

We keep a database of agencies and individuals who bulk order educational materials, as part of our contract with the state of North Carolina. The N.C. Healthy Start Foundation is the only organization who can directly access this database. Aggregate (non-identifying) information from this database is, at times, reported to the divisions within the N.C. Department of Health and Human Services who hold contracts with us. We use the database information for statistical analysis, for customer surveys and for product announcements.

All personal user information will remain confidential and will never be sold or otherwise shared or communicated to any commercial entity. We undertake to fully honor or exceed the legal requirements for medical/health information privacy.

As part of our Web site traffic analysis, we do collect information that is not traceable to any individual and is collected as aggregate statistics. The information we collect includes which browsers visitors use, which search terms are employed, which pages are visited, which hyperlinks are selected, etc. We use this information solely to improve and maintain the Web site.

We do not use cookies on our Web site.
